A closer look at Chronophoto
What Chronophoto is
Chronophoto is a photo-guessing game that asks you to guess the year each real photograph was taken, from 1900 to today.
It presents five-photo rounds where your score depends on how close your guess is to the actual year.
How you play (Daily, Unlimited, Party)
Daily gives everyone the same five new photos each day and resets at midnight your time; your days played, streak and best score appear on the Stats screen.
Unlimited lets you play as many five-photo games as you want and you can narrow the photos to a range of years in Settings.
Party mode uses a 10-character passcode so everyone who enters the same code gets the same five photos to play and compare scores.
Scoring and practical details
You slide or type the year (1900 to today) and submit; closer guesses score more points, up to 1,000 per photo and 5,000 for a perfect five-photo game.
Photos in a game come only from the highlighted years (at least 10); saving a new range starts a new game.
You can play in any browser on phone or computer, and there is also an iPhone app.
