Quick read
A writeup of the 2026 Maintainers Summit, an invitation-only day where about 30 Linux kernel developers discussed maintenance, review tools, LLMs, security patches, and succession planning. Someone would visit to learn the summitu2019s conclusions on Sashiko automated reviews, how maintainers handle low-quality or LLM-assisted contributions, and other practical maintainer concerns.
- Sashiko will hide pre-existing bug reports but store them separately
- Maintainership favors deprioritizing low-quality or unclear contributions
- Assisted-by tag requirement will be removed but provenance still wanted
