Better HTTP/1 connection reuse
Go 1.27 includes a change to the HTTP client that can make programs sending many sequential HTTP/1 requests significantly faster.
Quick read
A Go blog post explaining that Go 1.27 improves HTTP/1 connection reuse by automatically draining unread response bodies. This reduces repeated TCP/TLS setup costs so programs making many sequential HTTP/1 requests run much faster.
- Automatic asynchronous draining of unread HTTP/1 bodies
- Drains up to 50 ms or 256 KB to preserve connections
- Skips draining when Connection: close is present
